On February 16, 2020, the Central Bible Church membership voted with a 95% agreement to close Central Bible Church with the vision that through the closure of one church, many more would be started.

We are in the process of establishing a church planting endowment fund in partnership with the Northwest Baptist Foundation. This endowment will be the sole beneficiary from the sale of Central Bible Church’s assets and will be governed by a qualified team of leaders with experience in church multiplication.

We are presently receiving offers on our property from other churches and Christian ministries. No offers have been accepted and the building has not been sold. We are considering offers and are evaluating them based on the following two factors:

  • Is the offer close to fair market value and does it provide the necessary funds to establish a robust church planting endowment?
  • Will the buyer of the property continue to use the property for the advancement of the Gospel?

We also value the ministry of Skate Church and are sincerely praying for a buyer who will continue leasing to Skate Church at a price that they can afford. We recognize that we may need to accept an offer that does not match all of these criteria but we are working with a real estate agent who has years of experiencing helping churches sell their properties and we are hopeful that God has prepared the right buyer for our property.

The people of Central Bible Church are pursuing membership with other gospel preaching churches in the city. Additionally, a core group of former CB members has formed and they intend to launch a new church in the Montavilla neighborhood sometime later this year.

We will be posting regular updates here about the progress of the church planting endowment and the property sale. If you have any questions or comments please contact elders@centralbible.church.
